A Wedding: Brian & Lisa Siemonsma

Brian and Lisa. The most precious couple I've ever had the privilege of photographing. Brian was a calm groom ready to begin his new life with his beloved. And Lisa was a peaceful bride ready to take on the world with her man.
Lane and I have known these two souls since we were at Vanguard (seriously, we have VU to thank for all the awesome people with whom we've become great friends). Lane and I got to work close with Brian on the Spiritual Formation team, and I met Lisa at a chapel service where she painted a gorgeous butterfly which she later gifted to me because Lane used to call me his butterfly. So of course I was thrilled when Lisa asked me to photograph their beautiful outdoor wedding.

Lane, our friends Trevor & Ashlee, and myself drove 12-hours to Sonora, California where Brian and Lisa got married under a weeping willow tree. Trevor and Ashlee were actually a part of their wedding as Brian's groomsman and as Lisa's bridesmaid. So when we got to the little town of Sonora we were graciously welcomed by Brian and Lisa's families and our close friends who traveled from Southern California.

The ceremony was beautiful- every person who attended their wedding was happily shaded by an enormous willow tree. Lisa and her maids walked down barefoot as the men looked fashionable in their suspenders. The sun beamed behind the willow tree creating a heavenly silhouette of the ceremony making it feel like all as it should be. And it was. Delicate, sentimental, and lovely.

The rest of their day was spent with rainfall, a gorgeous sunset, yummy food, pies, lots of dancing, and a blissfully married Mr. and Mrs. Brian Siemonsma! What a day to remember and a beautiful couple to celebrate.

CONGRATULATIONS, B&L. You both radiate the love of Christ individually and as a couple. Thank you for inviting Lane and I to be a part of your special day. We're so blessed by your friendship and your genuine care for us. We love you both!

Enjoy their photos! They turned out beautiful and dreamy.

Yours truly,
Jayna

  1. I cannot tell you how many people commented on the ambiance of the vow renewal location, the stellar wait service and the food! It felt like almost every guest complimented the menu.
