Our 4 Year Anniversary!

Hello Readers,

Yes, I'm still alive and I'm here. The last two weeks needed my full attention because it was Valentine's day, our 4 year anniversary, my last week at work, and well now, I'm funemployed! So this post is going to jam pack Weeks 7 & 8 of the 52 week project [[A self-portrait once a week, every week in 2014]], and of course, our 4 year anniversary!

7 / 52 - Valentine's Day Date on the shore
8 / 52 - A Selfie with my love on Catalina

Lane and I had a great Valentine's/Anniversary Date! We went on two different dates the first at Joe's Crab Shack in Newport Beach, and the second on Catalina Island. These past four years have been the best with Lane. Every day with him is a new adventure and every year we're reminded of how much we've grown together as people and as a couple. I guess, we're more reminiscent than romantic on when our anniversary comes around. We love a good adventure so it was really nice to explore Catalina island together for the first time. Although we're dinner and a movie type of people, Lane and I really enjoyed learning about Catalina's history and enjoying new scenery - I love that he's just as much of a history nut as I am.

We set sail for Catalina at 9:15am, took an hour and half ferry ride (where my poor Lane slept the whole time to fight seasickness), and finally stepped foot on land just before lunch time. Catalina was picturesque- it reminded me of what Greece would look like or any European city close to the sea. We sat on the beach and ate our homemade lunch then walked around the tiny town of Avalon until our inland tour of the island- where yes, we did see a bison but from very, very far away. But how awesome that I can check that off my list of things to do! What we loved the most about Catalina was how quiet it was because there weren't any freeways.

After our tour we had an early dinner and ice cream from Olaf's (seriously guys, Olaf? Perfect- I love Frozen) then explored the famous Casino and learned more about the island at their museum. We wanted to do more but our ferry set sail back for Newport beach at 4:30pm. But we knew that wasn't our last visit, and hopefully we'll be back and stay over night (as husband and wife).

I decided to bring my big girl camera and take lots of photos. It's my goal as Lane's future wife to be the person to preserve our (future) family's memories through pictures. Mostly because I want my children, and their children to remember us as adventurers and a couple who loved doing things together.

Enjoy our photos:

DO YOU SEE THE TINY BISON?!

I hope all of you had a great Valentine's Day weekend! I can't wait for next year's as Mr. and Mrs. Greenleaf-Perez!

And I'm even more so excited to have more free time to update and work on my blog (hopefully), move out of my apartment, sell everything,  and focus on our wedding! It's been day two of being funemployed and gosh, I feel like I'm on vacation. It's beautiful.

Until next time!
