9 / 52 & Afternoon tea with Liv

Hey hey readers,

It's officially been a full week of being #funemployed! And it's actually proved to be the most productive week I've had in awhile-- full of wedding planning, nannying, and officially teaching vocals for a youth worship team.

So to wrap up the ninth week of 2014, here's a photo my sweet friend, Olivia, took of me this afternoon after having a late lunch and tea.

"A self-portrait once a week, every week in 2014." Afternoon tea with Liv.

---

Olivia and I have been friends since my freshmen year at Vanguard University. I met her at a college small group after she spoke about identity. Her wise words and confidence made me believe she was at least 3 years older than I was, but funny enough, she's my age! Since then I've always looked up to her and knew that I had a friend that I could be real with and could trust to lift me up when I needed it, and vise versa.

Over the years, our relationship has grown through Liv teaching me how to cook ("tryna domesticate" me prior to becoming a Mrs.), surprise birthday parties, movie nights watching our favorites-- She's the Man, Midnight in Paris, and every Avenger movie-- and of course, wandering into our past, present, and future through deep heart-to-heart conversations over countless cups of delicious coffee and/or tea.

Women like Olivia give me hope that I'm not the only 20-something year old going through the weird and unexplainable "post-grad-still-figuring-things-out" season part of life. I'm grateful to have Olivia in my life as a great friend and beautiful soul whom is truly interested in my well-being and heart. Her passion for raising up powerful women, and love for life, travel, books, movies, tea, coffee, and Jesus is inspirational and proves her to be of my kindred spirit.

This afternoon, Olivia and I enjoyed some afternoon tea, macarons, and yummy sandwiches at Seventh Tea Bar. Yes, we did have dessert first! If I could eat dessert before every entree I totally would! Life's too short to follow rules of meal etiquette.

Please enjoy some photos I took of our afternoon. I did warn Olivia before we met that I was going to bring my big girl camera to our outing, so she was the best and dressed the cutest! I also wanted to practice using this specific lens on my new camera and I love it! Woohoo!

Press play, this song has been on repeat!

Ain't she a beaut? Liv's the kind of woman I want to do life with until I'm an old Momma and in need of some girls nights out. I'm excited to see the both of us grow and learn in this season of our 20-something year old lives. I can't wait for our next date, Liv!
