My Bridal Shower // Rooted in Love

XO by John Mayer on Grooveshark

Hey YTJ Readers,

Lane and I are getting married!!! I mean, there's about 130-something days left...But after throwing my bridal shower in Hawaii, marrying Lane became a huge reality. After only 2 months since Lane proposed, I've gotten used to hearing people say congratulations to me all the time. But at my shower, it was a different experience when every lady hugged me to sincerely congratulate me. It might be because we were all excited to see each other after a year, or because they're just the sweetest people you'll ever meet.

My sister and best friend are my Maids of Honor. So of course, they did most of the planning. I have two Maids of Honor because Lane has two Best Men. It's not that we couldn't choose just one. It's because we think it's down right ridiculous that we even have to choose one person for such a title. We have the best of friends, so if we could make everyone our Best Man and Maid of honor, there would be no hesitation.

Jayanne and I had talked about the theme of my shower, and how I wanted to incorporate handmade flower crowns. I wanted every lady to bring home a flower crown instead of chocolate. So whenever they see, or even use their flower crown, they would remember the awesome time they had at my shower! Even though chocolate is delicious, it's usually eaten then forgotten. BORING! Plus, the flower crowns represent the theme of the shower: "Rooted in Love."

Being born and raised on Oahu, it's important for me, and every local girl, to remember our roots. I've been rooted, and now I'm flourishing and going to marry the love of my life! Cheesy. But if you really know me, then you knoooow I live for cheesy.

My sister and her best friend, Sherilyn, made 40 flower crowns for our guests. I'm so thankful for the both of them. They did such a great job! They turned out so beautiful! I couldn't have done it all without those two. Because of their hard work, each lady was gifted with either a pink flower crown or a yellow one. I wore the white flower crown I wore in our engagement photos.

As you can see from the slideshow above, we set up a cute photo booth (similar to my birthday soiree photo booth)! We also decorated the living room with a cute DIY banner, flower pom-pom's from Party City, and lanterns. The sign-in table was also very darling! Because one of our wedding colors is gold glitter, we made sure to go big with it!

So, enjoy my bridal shower photo booth pictures and some other photos that were taken with my Mom's camera. We're planning on having a smaller bridal shower for all of my California friends and family, so stay tuned for that!
