Happy Friday, YTJ family!
To the people who love Mondays, woo-hoo.
But for us Friday lovers, let's celebrate another week where we- not only survived- but learned from, grew from, experienced new things, made mistakes we'll try not to do next week (try!), and did life even during its endlessness throughout Monday until Thursday evening.
WE. MADE. IT!
So let's get started with our Friday series...
one // music // We Bought A Zoo Soundtrack has been on repeat while I've been editing photos, typing this blog post, answering e-mails, and wedding planning. Jonsi is brilliant and I can't get enough of his voice. "Around Us" was featured in our Engagement/Save The Date video, here. It's the best! I can't stop listening and I can't stop watching...So click play, and enjoy.
two // beauty // This photograph is truly beautiful. Beauty is not just skin, hair, and make-up. It's also a setting sun before the sea swallows its orangey goodness, a snow-capped mountain among tall orange trees, or rain. Just rain. Sincerely, Kinsey took this photo and gosh, she is an amazing photographer who captures true beauty in people and nature. Check out her blog!
three // home // I'm addicted to Rehab Addict on HGTV. Nicole Curtis is my hero! This kitchen is one of her projects. My favorite thing about this kitchen is the grey subway tile back splash! Watching Rehab Addict and HGTV is making me really excited to have my own home one day, and all I want to do is renovate my current townhouse. The latter will never happen because I'd probably hurt myself and everyone around me if I had a saw in my hand. But it would be a dream to have a Nicole Curtis home, but with Jayna and Lane written all over it. Such a dream!
four // fashion // ZARA's Spring 2014 Lookbook is right up my alley. I love a sophisticated lazy look. Oxymoron? Yeah I know, but it totally makes sense. I'm seriously loving their jeans- dark, distressed, and the classic blue. I'm also digging their tops- very basic in style but it reminds me of what a suburban 80's soccer mom would wear to PTA meetings. Easy, light, breezy, casual, yet still very sophisticated. You go, Mom! I'm no mother, but I'd definitely wear this collection. But since I'm trying to save for a wedding, I know I could easily put together looks similar to Zara's style with pieces that are already in my closet. Holla!
five // quote // 65 days left until our wedding, you guys! Six long months of planning are almost over. But God knows that a girl can get wrapped up in the planning and easily forget about the day after the wedding... Marriage. Thankfully, Lane and I went through pre-engagement counseling before we got engaged, and now we're halfway through pre-marital counseling and wow...It's been hard trying to re-callibrate my brain to not be selfish. It's true- when you love someone things don't get easier. Love is self-sacrificing, messy, hard, yet beautiful all at the same time. Fortunately for me, who Lane is makes everything worth it because I know he chooses to love me the same way. 65. DAYS! Woo!
That's a wrap, friends! I hope everyone's weekend is filled with good music, love, and this beautiful Spring time weather. You all are the best!
